    Powertrain

You don’t need to sacrifice power for fuel economy, and the all-new LS is proof. The LS 500 has a newly designed 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine mated to a 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission, built on a rear-wheel drive platform. While the previous generation of the LS was powered by a V8, the new iteration boasts more horsepower, churning out 415 ponies and 442 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the LS 500 will take you from zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds. EPA estimates on fuel economy haven’t been released yet, but the Lexus twin-turbocharged mechanics typically equate to class-leading efficiency.

Additionally, the LS comes with a hybrid option – the LS 500h. This model has been built with the Lexus Multi Stage Hybrid System, and combines a 3.5-liter V6 engine with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery.
