    Winning Season

    This week’s High School Volunteer of the Week is Chiara Biagini from Archbishop Mitty High School. Chiara is the catcher for the Monarchs varsity girls’ softball team and dedicated volunteer at St. Justin’s Community Ministry. At St. Justin’s she helps in various ways from organizing donated food and clothing, to making and delivering meals to the ill, homeless and elderly.  Great Job Chiara!

    Our Coach of the Week is from St. Francis High School, Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach Mike Rubin.  Coach Rubin and his Lancers are one of the top teams in the Bay Area and last week, they knocked off arch rival Bellarmine College Prep High School in the West Catholic Athletic League match up!  The Lancers swept the match in three sets, improving to a 22-2 on the season!  Congratulations Lancers – job well done!

    Overtime Win!

    Last week's High School Volunteer of the Week is Jennifer Lewis from Capuchino High School. As a great softball player and lover of the game, Jennifer has been volunteering at the  College of San Mateo softball camps for the last few years.  She umpires and teaches young kids not just the rules and team spirit of softball but how to play it and love it!  So congratulations Jennifer on being our Volunteer of the Week!

    Last week’s Coach of the Week is from Archbishop Mitty High School, Boys Baseball Coach Bill Hutton.  Coach Hutton and his Monarchs outlasted and won a thrilling game against Valley Christian High School.  It was a nail biting game with the Monarchs finally winning with a score of 12-11.  Congratulation Coach Hutton and both teams for a great game!

    Rockie Head Coach Undefeated

    Our High School Volunteer of the Week for the week of April 8th is Lacrosse player, Marcus White from Mountain View High School.  Marcus is an eagle scout and is volunteering for the love of lacrosse on and off the field. He is teaching and playing lacrosse with young kid’s and is helping to build a much needed shade structure for the Mountain View High School Lacrosse field.  Keep up the great work of how fun lacrosse is to play Marcus!

    Our Coach of the Week is from Mountain View High School as well!  Coach M. Anthony Chen, better known as Coach Mac is the head coach of the boys volleyball team.  Coach Mac is starting his rookie year as head coach with an undefeated in league season so far with a very big win over rival Monta Vista High School last week.  Coach Mac and the Spartans are 20 and 1 overall and are number one in their league!

    Coach Leads to State Title

    Our High School Volunteer of the Week for the week of April 1st was Mikhaila Talaugon from Leland High School. Mikhaila plays on the Chargers’ softball team and when she isn’t studying and playing softball, she volunteers with her church.  As a volunteer, she teaches kids how to play a variety of sports and most recently is helping in the planning of her church group going to Nicaragua to help build houses and schools this summer.

    4-1-12 Volunteer of the Week Mikhaila Talaugon Leland High 

    Our Coach of the Week is from Archbishop Mitty High School, Girls Basketball Coach Sue Phillips. Coach Phillips had one of the all-time great coaching performances, as she and her Monarchs beat Saint Mary’s College High School in the Northern Californian Finals and then won the State Title game by two points being and winning the title against J.W. North High School.  Way to go Monarch’s and Coach Phillips on winning the Nor Cal and State Titles!

    Charging into the League's Lead

    This week, our High School Volunteer of the Week is from Menlo Atherton High School, soccer player, Aaron Orofrom. In between his school work, soccer practice and games, Aaron finds the time to volunteer at Willow Elementary School.  At Willow Elementary Aaron tutor’s in various classrooms and enjoys playing any sport with the children after school.  Great Job Aaron!!!

    Our Coach of the Week is from Cupertino High School.   Varsity Boys  Basketball Coach Craig Ellegood brought the Cupertino Pioneers within one game of being in first place in their league!  Way to go Coach and Pioneers!
